About Me

Dylan Gigler, Founder

I developed my interest in history at a young age by reading sports stories about athletes from throughout history. I fell in love with European history after taking the honors class a couple of years ago. I was particularly fascinated by WWII and the Cold World era. Thanks to Professor Robert Edelman at UCSD, I became familiar with Ferenc Puskas, a Hungarian soccer star in the 1950s, and undertook a research project to understand his connection to the Hungarian Revolution and the ultimate fall of communism.

Besides playing soccer on two teams, I volunteer with WWII veterans through the Best Defense Foundation and transcribe documents for the Smithsonian Museum. I currently attend the Bishop’s School in La Jolla and plan to study history in college.

As a sports fan and history buff, I wanted to create a community where people can share their love of books, history, and sports.
