War on Terror

This past semester I took a new class at my school that focused on the war on terror. In the class we learned about different islam extremist ideologies and how prominent jihadist leaders came to be. We also spent time discussing the US’s response to terrorism and all of the intricacies that surrounded that. After taking this class I think that the War on Terror is a topic that all schools need to spend more time teaching, and not just as an elective course. In this class we learned history that was extremely relevant to today's society and is almost necessary to have political discussions in the modern era. The information that I learned about the US war in Iraq and Afghanistan is very relevant in many conversations I have with my peers today and I am grateful to have been taught about such an emerging topic.
